Aquatrek Diving & Marine Services was the first commercial dive charter boat operation to be established in North Berwick .

It was set up by a local diver  who wanted to be able to offer  other divers the opportunity  to appreciate & enjoy the vast wealth of dive sites that lie on the doorstep of  the town & word is spreading quickly putting North Berwick on the map as the premier dive location on the east coast of Scotland.

The initial boat "Thistle B" operated well at first with trips to the local dive sites, but there was a demand from divers to go to the sites further out in the Firth of Forth especially the Isle of May, so it was replaced with "Thistle B 11" a larger & faster charter boat & licensed for 12 persons operating up to 60 miles offshore. Full safety equipment plus O2  is carried onboard.

Diving around the islands of Bass Rock, Fidra, Craigleith, Lamb & May  you will find the abundant marine life quite remarkable with sightings of wolf fish, conger eels, butterfish, wrasse & octopus as well as pink shrimp, lobsters, crabs, dahlia anemones, white & orange dead mans fingers, brittle stars & sunstars.  You might also be lucky enough to see a puffin or guillemot  fly past you on silver wings of trapped air. There are also many common & grey seals to be found around the islands.

Historical wrecks of ships & submarines in the area make interesting diving, with depths to suit all abilities.  New wrecks are being  found all the time in the Firth of  Forth, some on the deepish side such as the Munchen at 55mtrs, a lot of interest has been generated by this wreck , especially technical divers using mixed gases  who find it ideal for this type of diving.

There is a compressor at the harbour for fills up to 300 bar which is double filtered for 02 clean kit.

£32 per day at offshore sites, May Island, U77 etc.

Prices quoted are per diver for two dives ( minimum charge of 10 divers).
